Localized flat spots worn diagonally across the tread, often repeating around tread circumference.
Can be caused by loose or worn wheel bearings, toe out, mismatched duals for size and/or inflation pressures.
For steer positions, causes include excessive toe combined with tandem drive axle misalignment, incorrect steering angle in turns, worn parts, and/or excessive camber setting. For trailer positions, causes include tandem trailer misalignment, negative camber, and loose or worn components.
The tire may be rotated to the outside drive dual position with change in rotation of the tire. If wear is excessive, submit to retreader for further options.
